  • Description

The Versitar is built with the same combinations of tonewoods you'd expect on an acoustic instrument. (i.e. mahogany, rosewood, spruce, cedar). In addition to these standard options, you can get them in a wide variety sustainable American woods such as: black locust, walnut, ash, Osage orange, holly, and exotics including cocobolo, Nicaraguan and Brazilian rosewood. Standard features include: a teardrop shaped, offset soundhole, which means the need for fewer braces; a cutaway that allows access to 22 frets; a truss rod that extends the entire length of the neck; and a bolt-on neck that will never strip, no matter how many times you loosen and tighten the furniture-style bolts. Gruhn says all of these things contribute to great stability, and a balance of tone and volume all the way up and down the neck.
